It's the most wonderful time of year is it not? The air is getting cool and crisp, the snow is beginning to fall and decorations are going up. With the hustle and bustle of of the season it think its time for a little bit of a self check!

As each day ends and a new one begins, I feel my personal "TO DO" list begin to grow. There are dishes to be done, toys to pick up, gifts to purchase, family time that needs to be scheduled and Christmas decorations to be set up. So much going on and yet so little time.

During my person prayer time these last few weeks, I have been personally hearing the Lord say to me that he is found in the rest and stillness. The story comes to mind of Elijah when he is being pursued he decides to take refuge in a mountain. Then he was told to stand on the mountain and God would pass by. There was a hurricane, yes I said it right a HURRICANE and God was not to be found it. There was a great wind, and God was not found in that, there was also an EARTHQUAKE and God was not to be found in that. Finally FIRE and God was not in that either, but after the fire there was a gentle quiet whisper and that is where he found God. (1 Kings 19:11-12)

I crack up reading this passage of scripture, because I find it so relatable. In my personal life I find myself constantly looking for the BIG things that God will use to speak to me, don't get me wrong, he will use these things to speak to us, but the most common place I find God is in that QUIET whisper. That quiet whisper that says to rest in him, to trust him, to believe that he has a plan to work all things together for the good of those he loves.

I had the amazing opportunity this Friday to attend a Yoga class led by a person friend named Kali Hall. She does a Friday night class called Heavenly Flow, its light stretching in a dim room done to worship music. Its such a powerful time to quiet your spirit and just listen. Listen to what God has to say to you, so often life we are on the go and we don't take the time to just wait on the Lord. Its crazy to think that he constantly thinks of you and has things he wants to tell you or remind you of. Check out the link if you are interested in her class. (click here)

So during this busy season, take some time to do some personal care, do a self check. What's on your heart? What burdens do you carry that you shouldn't? Such amazing questions to ask yourself and if you have a free moment maybe do a Yoga class! Either way take time for yourself and ask God what he wants to say to you! I promise you will not be disappointed.
